A Journey of Faith and Unity: MTMS Celebrates Jagannath Rath Yatra 2026 on Campus

At Mother Teresa Memorial School (MTMS), cultural celebrations are an integral part of shaping well-rounded, compassionate individuals who remain deeply connected to our heritage. On the auspicious occasion of Jagannath Rath Yatra 2026, our campus resonated with devotional chants, ringing bells, and joyous prayers as students and faculty joined hands for a grand indoor chariot procession. The day began with deep reverence, transforming our school corridors into a sacred space of unity, gratitude, and devotion. Traditional Rituals and Sacred Offerings The celebration commenced with traditional pooja and aarti performed by our faculty and leadership, invoking the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. A beautifully decorated sanctum was prepared at the entrance, adorned with vibrant flowers, incense, and traditional lamps. Keeping with timeless traditions, sacred prasad consisting of sprouted moong and black chana was offered during the ceremonies, symbolizing health, purity, and spiritual nourishment. The Student Chariot Procession The highlight of the event was the student-led Rath Yatra procession. Our students proudly pulled a flower-adorned miniature Rath (chariot) decorated with palm leaves and vibrant garlands through every hallway and classroom. Accompanied by the rhythmic beat of cymbals (manjira) played enthusiastically by young learners, the procession brought the divine spirit directly to every classroom. Students lined up on both sides with folded hands, receiving blessings and offering flower petals as the chariot passed by. The procession concluded with a grand group prayer where students, teachers, and staff gathered together, reflecting our school’s core values of Leadership, Wisdom, Compassion, and Growth. Teaching Values Beyond Books Events like the Rath Yatra serve as living classrooms. By actively participating in the procession and rituals, our students learn the value of community effort, devotion, and inclusivity—reminding us that when we pull together in harmony, no hurdle is too great.

Raindrops & Creativity: Pre-Primary Students Celebrate the Season with a “Happy Monsoon” Craft Activity!

At Mother Teresa Memorial School (MTMS), we love finding creative ways to connect our students with the changing world around them. With the arrival of the refreshing rainy season, our pre-primary classrooms came alive on July 9, 2026, for a delightful and interactive “Happy Monsoon” Craft Activity. The classroom blackboard set the perfect scene with beautiful chalk drawings of smiling rainclouds and a colorful umbrella, inspiring our little learners to dive into their own artistic projects. Bringing the Rainy Season to Life on Paper Armed with colorful paper sheets, glue, and crayons, our young students stepped into the role of miniature designers. The activity focused on creating a beautiful multi-dimensional monsoon scene inside their workbooks: 3D Paper Umbrellas: Students carefully folded and layered vibrant, multi-colored paper to create eye-catching 3D umbrellas that popped right off the page. Fluffy Rainclouds: Little hands carefully glued soft blue cutout clouds at the top of their artwork. Drawing the Rain: Using their crayons, the children drew rows of falling raindrops, completing their perfect stormy-day masterpieces. The absolute focus on their faces as they assembled their crafts—followed by the proud moments where they held up their finished work—made the entire session incredibly rewarding. Learning Through Crafting While this activity brought immense joy and laughter to the classroom, it also served as an essential tool for early childhood development. By cutting, folding, gluing, and drawing, our students developed: Fine Motor Coordination: Manipulating small paper layers and utilizing glue sticks refines hand dexterity. Spatial Awareness: Learning how to arrange different elements (clouds at the top, umbrellas in the middle) to build a cohesive visual scene. Creative Expression: Encouraging young minds to explore textures, shapes, and vibrant color combinations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8Bf8jbVxTI

Tiny Thumbs, Big Creativity: Pre-Primary Students Explore Art via Thumb Impression Activity!

At Mother Teresa Memorial School (MTMS), we believe that learning in early childhood should be an immersive, joyful, and tactile experience. On July 14, 2026, our pre-primary classrooms were filled with excitement, giggles, and a splash of bright green paint as our youngest learners participated in a delightful Thumb Impression Activity. Stepping away from traditional coloring tools like crayons and markers, the students used the best brushes nature gave them—their own tiny thumbs! Bringing Art to Life, One Print at a Time The creative task of the day was to fill out a beautiful drawing of a bunch of grapes sketched perfectly on the blackboard and inside their activity workbooks. Our little artists dipped their thumbs into vibrant green paint, carefully pressing them down to form juicy, textured grapes. The concentration on their faces as they stamped their pages, followed by the immense pride when showing off their completed masterpieces, was truly heartwarming. The Purpose Behind the Play While this activity looks like pure fun on the surface, it serves as a vital stepping stone in early childhood development. Activities like thumb printing help our young students build: Fine Motor Skills: Strengthening the small muscles in the hands and fingers, which is essential for learning how to hold a pencil and write. Hand-Eye Coordination: Encouraging precision as they aim to print within specific boundaries. Sensory Exploration: Exploring new textures and properties of liquid paint through touch. Confidence & Expression: Giving children a sense of achievement as they create a tangible piece of art from scratch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQs_rxA48yU

Nurturing Our Roots: MTMS Celebrates World Environment Day 2026 with a Tree Planting Initiative

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that education extends far beyond classroom walls. It encompasses our responsibility to the community and the planet we call home. In alignment with this mission, the MTMS family came together to mark World Environment Day 2026 with a powerful, hands-on initiative centered around our event theme: “Our Commitment: Nourishing the Earth, Securing the Future.” As global citizens, we understand that a greener tomorrow depends on the actions we take today. To put this belief into practice, our faculty, staff, and school community joined hands for a dedicated, Community-Led Tree Planting Initiative on our campus grounds. Planting the Seeds of Change The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as our dedicated teachers and staff members swapped their pens for saplings. Working collectively, the team planted a variety of young trees, carefully nurturing the soil and giving each plant a strong start. This tree-planting drive wasn’t just a symbolic gesture; it is an active investment in our local ecosystem. By adding more green cover to our surroundings, we aim to: Enhance biodiversity and provide natural habitats for local wildlife. Improve local air quality and create a healthier, more refreshing microclimate for our students. Instill a profound sense of ecological responsibility within our entire school community. Leading by Example Our teachers are our students’ greatest role models. By stepping out onto the field and leading this green drive, our faculty has demonstrated that leadership requires active, compassionate participation. We want our students to see that caring for the earth is a continuous obligation—one that requires patience, effort, and care. As these saplings grow over the coming years into strong, shade-giving trees, they will stand as a living testament to our school’s enduring pledge to sustainability and environmental preservation. “The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.” — Lady Bird Johnson Thank you to everyone who participated in making this event a grand success! Let us carry this green momentum forward throughout the rest of the year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnA_TNFrFTc

Beyond Textbooks: Empowering Our Innovators Through Hands-On Experiential Learning at MTMS

Education at Mother Teresa Memorial School (MTMS) has always been about more than just memorizing facts for an exam—it is about nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world skills. Recently, our campus transformed into a buzzing hub of innovation as students participated in a series of immersive, practical learning workshops. Moving away from traditional chalkboard lectures, our students stepped into the roles of young engineers and scientists, bringing complex classroom concepts to life with their own hands. Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice Under the close mentorship and guidance of our dedicated faculty members, students worked in teams to design, build, and troubleshoot actual working projects. The activities focused heavily on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fundamentals, allowing students to explore: Electrical Circuits & Wiring: Understanding the mechanics of power, safety switches, and circuitry by building real, functioning setups. Applied Electronics: Working with components to see firsthand how everyday technology functions. Interactive Science Models: Demystifying complex physics and mechanics concepts through tangible, physical experimentation. Learning to Collaborate, Leading to Grow These activities do more than teach technical skills; they foster essential life skills. By working together in groups, our students learned the art of collaboration, clear communication, and collective problem-solving. Standing alongside their teachers, the immense pride on our students’ faces as they successfully showcased their working models was a testament to the power of experiential learning. When a student builds something with their own hands, their confidence skyrockets. They stop asking “What is the answer?” and start asking “How does this work, and how can I make it better?” Watch Our Young Innovators in Action! We have compiled the highlights, group photos, and project showcases from these activity sessions into a special video. Head over to our official YouTube channel to watch our students and faculty present their hard work!
