Nurturing Our Roots: MTMS Celebrates World Environment Day 2026 with a Tree Planting Initiative

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that education extends far beyond classroom walls. It encompasses our responsibility to the community and the planet we call home. In alignment with this mission, the MTMS family came together to mark World Environment Day 2026 with a powerful, hands-on initiative centered around our event theme: “Our Commitment: Nourishing the Earth, Securing the Future.” As global citizens, we understand that a greener tomorrow depends on the actions we take today. To put this belief into practice, our faculty, staff, and school community joined hands for a dedicated, Community-Led Tree Planting Initiative on our campus grounds. Planting the Seeds of Change The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as our dedicated teachers and staff members swapped their pens for saplings. Working collectively, the team planted a variety of young trees, carefully nurturing the soil and giving each plant a strong start. This tree-planting drive wasnโ€™t just a symbolic gesture; it is an active investment in our local ecosystem. By adding more green cover to our surroundings, we aim to: Enhance biodiversity and provide natural habitats for local wildlife. Improve local air quality and create a healthier, more refreshing microclimate for our students. Instill a profound sense of ecological responsibility within our entire school community. Leading by Example Our teachers are our students’ greatest role models. By stepping out onto the field and leading this green drive, our faculty has demonstrated that leadership requires active, compassionate participation. We want our students to see that caring for the earth is a continuous obligationโ€”one that requires patience, effort, and care. As these saplings grow over the coming years into strong, shade-giving trees, they will stand as a living testament to our school’s enduring pledge to sustainability and environmental preservation. “The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.” โ€” Lady Bird Johnson Thank you to everyone who participated in making this event a grand success! Let us carry this green momentum forward throughout the rest of the year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnA_TNFrFTc

Beyond Textbooks: Empowering Our Innovators Through Hands-On Experiential Learning at MTMS

Education at Mother Teresa Memorial School (MTMS) has always been about more than just memorizing facts for an examโ€”it is about nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world skills. Recently, our campus transformed into a buzzing hub of innovation as students participated in a series of immersive, practical learning workshops. Moving away from traditional chalkboard lectures, our students stepped into the roles of young engineers and scientists, bringing complex classroom concepts to life with their own hands. Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice Under the close mentorship and guidance of our dedicated faculty members, students worked in teams to design, build, and troubleshoot actual working projects. The activities focused heavily on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fundamentals, allowing students to explore: Electrical Circuits & Wiring: Understanding the mechanics of power, safety switches, and circuitry by building real, functioning setups. Applied Electronics: Working with components to see firsthand how everyday technology functions. Interactive Science Models: Demystifying complex physics and mechanics concepts through tangible, physical experimentation. Learning to Collaborate, Leading to Grow These activities do more than teach technical skills; they foster essential life skills. By working together in groups, our students learned the art of collaboration, clear communication, and collective problem-solving. Standing alongside their teachers, the immense pride on our students’ faces as they successfully showcased their working models was a testament to the power of experiential learning. When a student builds something with their own hands, their confidence skyrockets. They stop asking “What is the answer?” and start asking “How does this work, and how can I make it better?” Watch Our Young Innovators in Action! We have compiled the highlights, group photos, and project showcases from these activity sessions into a special video. Head over to our official YouTube channel to watch our students and faculty present their hard work!

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Fitness in Motion: The High-Energy Aerobics Experience at MTMS

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that a vibrant mind resides in a healthy body. While academic excellence is our foundation, we place equal importance on physical fitness and active living. Recently, our school hall was transformed into a powerhouse of energy during our latest Aerobics Class! Aerobics is more than just exercise; it is a celebration of rhythm, stamina, and the joy of movement that leaves our students feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. โœจ Why Aerobics? In an age where digital screens often take up a lot of time, our Aerobics sessions provide a vital outlet for students to: Boost Cardiovascular Health: Improving heart health and lung capacity through rhythmic movement. Enhance Coordination: Synchronizing “Cool Moves” with the beat of the music helps develop better brain-body connections. Release Endorphins: Physical activity is a natural stress-buster, helping students feel happier and more focused in their academic classes. Build Team Spirit: Exercising together in a large group fosters a sense of unity and collective energy. โšก High Energy & Fun Workouts The atmosphere in the hall was electric! Led by our expert fitness instructors, students from various grades joined in to practice “Fun Workouts” that didn’t feel like work at all. From stretching and jumping to synchronized steps, the “High Energy” was contagious. As the music played, it was heartening to see every studentโ€”from the most athletic to the more reservedโ€”finding their rhythm and pushing their limits. At MTMS, we call these the “Best Classes” because they bring out the most spirited versions of our students. “Intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.” โ€” The MTMS Physical Education Department

๐Ÿ“š Celebrating the Power of Words: English Language Day at MTMS

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that “Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going.” Today, our campus was buzzing with literary excitement as we celebrated English Language Day! This day is observed globally on April 23rd to mark the birthday of the legendary playwright William Shakespeare, and at MTMS, we used this occasion to inspire a deeper love for reading, writing, and communication among our students. โœจ A Journey Through Literature Our students took a deep dive into the world of English literature, exploring the works of great masters. From the dramatic tales of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” to modern poetry, the classroom was transformed into a library of imagination. Highlights of our celebration included: Literary Displays: Students curated a collection of classic books, showcasing the rich history of the English language. Creative Chart Work: Our young learners created vibrant posters and charts highlighting the evolution of English and its global importance. Public Speaking & Recitation: Students stepped up to share famous quotes and poems, building their confidence and elocution skills. The “Shakespeare Corner”: A special tribute to the ‘Bard of Avon,’ where students learned about his contribution to the words we use every single day. ๐Ÿง  Why English Language Day Matters In today’s interconnected world, English serves as a bridge between cultures. By celebrating this day, we aim to: Foster a Love for Reading: Encouraging students to pick up a book and discover new worlds. Enhance Communication: Building the vocabulary and grammar skills necessary for future success. Celebrate Diversity: Acknowledging English as a global language that brings people together. “Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic.” โ€” A sentiment shared by the MTMS English Faculty

๐Ÿ’ƒ Steps of Joy: Celebrating Movement and Rhythm at MTMS

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, education goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. We believe in nurturing the “whole child,” and our vibrant Performing Arts program is a huge part of that mission. Recently, our school hall was transformed into a stage of pure energy during our weekly Dance Class! Dance is a universal language, and seeing our students express themselves through rhythm and movement is truly a “spirit that lifts everyone up.” โœจ More Than Just a Dance While it looks like a lot of fun, our dance sessions are carefully designed to help students grow in several key areas: Physical Fitness: Dance is a fantastic way to improve flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular health. Discipline & Coordination: Learning complex choreography requires focus, memory, and precise body control. Emotional Expression: It provides a healthy outlet for students to express their emotions and build self-confidence. Teamwork: Dancing in a group teaches students how to synchronize their movements and support their peers to create a beautiful collective performance. ๐ŸŒŸ Finding the “Steps of Joy” From the graceful poses of traditional dance to the upbeat energy of modern styles, our students gave their absolute best. The hall was buzzing with excitement as “Just Dance” became the motto for the day. Whether they were beginners or seasoned young performers, every student found their own rhythm. As one of our students beautifully put it during the session: “(I forgot how happy this makes me.)” โ€” This sentiment is exactly why we prioritize the arts at MTMS. “To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful.” โ€” The MTMS Performing Arts Department

๐Ÿ™ˆ Art Through Imagination: The “Blindfold Drawing” Challenge in Class 5

Can you draw a perfect circle with your eyes closed? What about a house or a smiling face? Recently, our Class 5 students at Mother Teresa Memorial School put their spatial awareness and imagination to the ultimate test in a unique classroom activity: Drawing with Eyes Closed. This activity was a delightful break from traditional lessons, proving that creativity doesn’t always need sightโ€”it just needs vision! โœจ The Challenge: Board, Chalk, and Closed Eyes The rules were simple but the results were hilarious and heartwarming: The Setup: A student stands at the board with a piece of chalk. The Goal: The teacher calls out a shape or an object (like a flower, a star, or a face). The Twist: The student must close their eyes tightly and draw solely based on their mental “map” of the board. The Reveal: The best part! The student opens their eyes to see how closeโ€”or how wonderfully far offโ€”their drawing ended up. ๐Ÿง  Why We Do This (Itโ€™s Not Just for Laughs!) While the classroom was filled with giggles, this activity serves several educational purposes: Spatial Awareness: It helps students understand the “coordinates” of a space without relying on visual cues. Mental Visualization: Students have to clearly “see” the shape in their mind before their hand moves. Building Confidence: It teaches kids to laugh at their mistakes and enjoy the process of creating, regardless of the “perfect” result. Stress Relief: Creative play like this reduces classroom anxiety and builds a stronger bond between classmates. ๐Ÿ“ธ Laughter is the Best Lesson The most inspiring part of the day was seeing the students cheer for one another. Whether the “circle” turned into an “egg” or the “face” had an eye on the forehead, every student walked back to their desk with a smile. At MTMS, we celebrate the courage to try new things and the joy of shared laughter.
