Freedom Gives Us the Right to Live, Learn, and Dream in Our Own Country: MTMS Celebrates Independence Day 2026

At Mother Teresa Memorial School (MTMS), patriotism is about understanding the responsibilities and privileges that come with being citizens of this great nation. To mark the 80th Independence Day, our campus was transformed into a vibrant celebration of unity, creativity, and national pride.

The entire school community came together to reflect on our heritage and celebrate the freedom that allows our students to thrive.

A Campus Draped in the Tiranga The festivities began with beautifully curated tricolour displays and classroom boards decorated with intricate paper crafts, saffron-white-green rosettes, and chalk illustrations of the Indian map and Ashoka Chakra. The visual atmosphere set an inspiring stage for our young learners to understand the significance of the day.

Creative Patriotic Workshops Students actively engaged in themed learning and art sessions designed to instill love for the country through creative expression:

• Map & Flag Illustrations: In the classrooms, children worked diligently on worksheets, coloring the national map and the Tiranga with focus and precision.

• Tricolour Hand-Painting: In a collaborative activity, students painted their palms in saffron, white, and green, joining their hands in a circle on the auditorium stage to symbolize unity, diversity, and collective harmony.

• Patriotic Stage Walk: Proudly displaying their painted hands and completed artwork, students walked across the stage to patriotic anthems, showcasing their pride and high spirits.

Nurturing Future Nation Builders Through these activities, our students learn that freedom means taking responsibility for one’s actions, respecting diversity, and striving to make a meaningful contribution to society.
