🌍 Our Earth, Our Responsibility: Celebrating Earth Day 2026 at MTMS

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that the best way to predict the future is to create it. This Earth Day, our campus was filled with a “green” spirit as our students came together to celebrate our planet and pledge their commitment to its protection. Earth Day is more than just a date on the calendar; it is a reminder that we are the guardians of this beautiful world, and our actions today will shape the environment for generations to come. 🌱 A Masterpiece of Teamwork The highlight of our celebration was a collaborative project created by a group of our talented students. Instead of working individually, they combined their ideas and artistic skills to create a beautiful tribute to Mother Earth. By working together, our students learned a valuable lesson: Just as one person alone cannot protect the planet, we must all join hands to make a real difference. Their artwork serves as a vibrant symbol of unity, showcasing a world filled with lush trees, clean blue waters, and a bright future. 🍃 Lessons in Sustainability Beyond the art project, our educators took this opportunity to discuss the importance of sustainable living with all grade levels: The Power of Trees: Understanding how every sapling planted helps our air stay fresh. Reducing Waste: Practical tips on how students can reduce plastic use in their daily lives. Water Conservation: Learning that every drop counts and how to be mindful of our resources. 📸 A Message from Our Young Leaders The enthusiasm shown by our students was truly inspiring. Seeing them take such pride in their Earth Day project gives us immense hope. It proves that when children are taught to love nature, they will naturally grow up to protect it. “The Earth does not belong to us: we belong to the Earth.” — The MTMS Eco-Club

🎨 A Canvas of Talent: Celebrating World Art Day at MTMS 🎨

Art is not just a subject; it’s a language through which our students express their thoughts, dreams, and creativity. At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we are incredibly proud of the artistic talent within our walls, and there was no better day to celebrate it than World Art Day! Our students continue to amaze us with their vision and dedication, transforming simple sheets of paper into profound statements about the world around them. ✨ Showcasing Our Brightest Artists On this special day, we recognized the outstanding achievements of our students who competed in a recent art competition. We were honored to present Certificates of Participation to these young visionaries, celebrating not just their skill but their courage to create. A special round of applause goes to our talented winners from Class 9: Prarthana Shah for her intricate and colorful depiction of a smart, green city. Krishna Desai for her detailed illustration showcasing the icons and growth of modern Ahmedabad. Their posters, featured at the front of the school, are a vibrant reminder of the importance of fostering creativity from a young age. 🖌️ Nurturing Creativity at MTMS We believe that providing a platform for expression is essential for holistic development. Through our dedicated art program, we aim to help our students develop: Critical Thinking: Learning to observe the world closely and question injustice. Confidence: Building self-esteem by sharing their unique perspective with others. Empathy: Understanding different viewpoints through visual storytelling. “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” — The MTMS Art Department

📖 Honoring the Architect of Our Constitution: Ambedkar Jayanti 2026 at MTMS

Today, Mother Teresa Memorial School joins the nation in celebrating the 135th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Known as the Architect of the Indian Constitution, Babasaheb Ambedkar was a pioneering scholar, a social reformer, and a champion of human rights whose ideas continue to guide our country. At MTMS, we believe in instilling strong values in our students, and the life of Dr. Ambedkar offers a powerful lesson in determination, the pursuit of knowledge, and the struggle for equality. ✨ Remembering a Visionary Ambedkar Jayanti is a time to reflect on the immense contributions Babasaheb made toward building a just and democratic India: Champion of Social Justice: He dedicated his life to empowering the marginalized and fighting against social discrimination. The Constitution’s Architect: His legal genius ensured that the foundation of our nation is built on the pillars of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. Pioneer of Women’s Rights: He strongly advocated for the equality and empowerment of women in Indian society. Symbol of Education: His life proved that knowledge is the ultimate tool for liberation and change. 🕊️ Our Commitment at MTMS As an educational institution, we strive to uphold the principles Dr. Ambedkar fought for. Through our curriculum and daily interactions, we foster an environment of: ✅ Respect for All: Teaching students to value every individual, regardless of their background. ✅ Equality: Ensuring every child has an equal opportunity to learn and grow. ✅ Critical Thinking: Encouraging students to question injustice and think for themselves. “Cultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence.” — The Inspiring Words of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

👐 Play, Focus, and Grow: The Hand-Eye Coordination Challenge at MTMS

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that the best kind of learning happens when kids are having so much fun they don’t even realize they are working! Recently, our classrooms were filled with “super focus” as our youngest students took on the Hand-Eye Coordination Cup Challenge. This simple-looking game is actually a powerful brain-training exercise designed to help our little ones develop balance, concentration, and motor skills. 🥤 The “Tricky Cup” Challenge: How It Works The setup is simple but the task requires a lot of thinking! We arranged two rows of colorful cups on a table. But there was a twist: the cups were placed in an alternate pattern—one facing up and the next facing down. The Rules of the Race: Double Trouble: Students must use both hands at the same time to pick up the first two cups. The Cross-Over: Because the cups alternate positions, students have to cross their arms to pick up the next set and stack them correctly (right-side up on right-side up, and upside down on upside down!). Steady Hands: They must move through the entire row without knocking over the stacks! 🧠 Why This Activity is Great for Our Little Stars While the kids love the challenge of crossing their arms, this activity is building important foundations: Brain Boosting: Crossing the “midline” of the body helps the left and right sides of the brain communicate better. Hand-Eye Coordination: Aligning the cups perfectly takes a lot of practice and visual focus. Fine Motor Skills: Gripping and stacking the cups strengthens the small muscles in their hands, which eventually helps with writing. Concentration: It teaches them to slow down, think before they move, and stay patient. ✨ Smiles and Success It was wonderful to see the look of pure concentration on their faces, followed by a huge smile once they reached the end of the row! At MTMS, we celebrate these small victories every day because they are the building blocks of a confident child. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7qijOui_kY

⏰ Tick-Tock, It’s Art O’Clock: The Clock Drawing Activity at MTMS

Time is one of the most important concepts a child can learn, but it can also be one of the most challenging. At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe in making “abstract” ideas “concrete.” Recently, our students participated in a vibrant Clock Drawing Activity, turning a math lesson into a creative masterpiece. By building their own clocks from scratch, students moved beyond just looking at a wall clock; they became active participants in understanding how time is structured. 🎨 Learning Through Design The activity was structured to help students visualize the mechanics of a clock face. Here is how our young learners approached the task: The Perfect Circle: Students practiced their drawing skills by creating the foundation of the clock. Number Placement: This was a great exercise in spatial awareness and sequencing, as students carefully placed numbers 1 through 12 at equal intervals. The Hands of Time: Drawing the hour and minute hands helped students differentiate between the two and understand their specific roles. A Splash of Color: To make the lesson stick, students filled their designs with bright colors, making each clock as unique as the student who created it. 🧠 Why This Activity Works Hands-on activities like clock-making offer several educational advantages: Memory Retention: Physically drawing and coloring a clock helps the brain remember the layout better than just looking at a picture. Motor Skill Development: Precise drawing and coloring strengthen the small muscles in the hands. Reducing “Math Anxiety”: By blending math with art, students feel more relaxed and confident when tackling numerical concepts. 📸 Moments from the Classroom Our classrooms were buzzing with concentration and excitement. It was wonderful to see students helping each other ensure the “12” and “6” were perfectly aligned! These moments of peer-to-peer learning are what make the MTMS environment so special. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmyRFCwXT1U

📖 Words Within Words: Creative English Learning in Std. 2

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that language learning should be an adventure of discovery. Recently, our Std. 2 students took part in a series of interactive English activities designed to deepen their understanding of word structures and vocabulary in a fun, hands-on way. These activities go beyond rote memorization, encouraging students to visualize and manipulate language to see how it works. 🔍 Activity 1: The “Hidden Word” Challenge In this clever exercise, students explored the concept of “words within words.” Each student held a paper with a primary word and, through the simple act of folding the paper to hide the first letter, revealed entirely new words hidden inside. This activity helps students improve their spelling and recognize patterns in English phonics. Some of the impressive examples included: PRICE revealing RICE and then ICE PLATE transforming into LATE MOTHER becoming OTHER STABLE uncovering TABLE and ABLE CHAIR hiding HAIR and AIR CHEAT leading to HEAT and EAT 🔄 Activity 2: Mastering Antonyms with Rhythm Following the word-play challenge, the students moved into a rhythmic activity focused on Opposite Words. By repeating the words in a “triple-beat” style (e.g., “Tall-Tall-Tall”), the students used auditory and kinesthetic learning to cement these concepts in their memories. The pairs practiced included: Tall vs. Short Yes vs. No Big vs. Small Happy vs. Sad Up vs. Down Open vs. Close ✨ Why Interactive Learning Matters These activities are a vital part of our curriculum at MTMS. By making lessons interactive, we: Increase Engagement: Students are more likely to remember what they learn when they are physically involved. Build Confidence: Speaking and presenting in front of the class helps develop early public speaking skills. Simplify Complex Concepts: Breaking down words makes the English language feel more approachable and logical for young learners. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QTSV89wnH0

🎨 The Art of the Dot: Earbud Dabbing Activity at MTMS

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that every child is an artist. Recently, our classrooms were transformed into vibrant art studios as our students participated in the Earbud Dabbing Activity. While it may look like simple fun with colors, this activity is a classic introduction to Pointillism—a technique where small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. ✨ Why Earbud Dabbing? Traditional brushes are great, but using earbuds (cotton swabs) offers a unique set of benefits for young learners: Developing Fine Motor Skills: Holding a thin earbud requires a precise “pincer grip,” which is essential for developing neat handwriting. Enhancing Focus and Patience: Unlike broad brushstrokes, dabbing requires students to be intentional and patient with every single dot they place. Exploring Textures: The soft, rounded tip of the earbud creates a unique texture that helps students understand how different tools produce different artistic effects. Color Recognition & Blending: Students experimented with layering dots of different colors to see how they interact visually on the page. 🖌️ From Blank Pages to Masterpieces Armed with vibrant paints and a handful of earbuds, our students brought various sketches to life. From colorful peacocks and blooming flowers to bright rainbows, the creativity on display was truly remarkable. It was heartening to see the level of concentration on their faces as they carefully filled their designs dot by dot. “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” — The MTMS Art Department

🏆 Precision & Pace: The ‘Transfer the Ball’ Race Challenge 🏆

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe that learning happens best when it is active and engaging. Our recent “Transfer the Ball” race was a perfect example of how simple materials—like cups and balls—can be used to build vital life skills in a fun, competitive environment. This activity wasn’t just about speed; it was a true test of a student’s concentration, steady hands, and strategic thinking. 🎯 The Challenge: How It Works The rules were simple but the execution required immense focus: The Setup: Five cups are placed in a row with a ball in the first cup. The Goal: Students must transfer the ball from the first cup to the second, then stack the first two together to move the ball to the third, and so on. The Twist: Students are strictly prohibited from touching the ball with their hands! The Win: The first student to reach the final cup and stack all five cups together is crowned the winner. 🧠 Skills in Action While the students saw it as an exciting race, this activity was designed to develop several key areas: Fine Motor Skills: Navigating the cups requires delicate and controlled movements. Hand-Eye Coordination: Aligning the cups perfectly to ensure the ball doesn’t fall. Concentration under Pressure: Maintaining a steady hand while four other classmates are racing alongside you. Patience: Learning that “haste makes waste”—if you move too fast and drop the ball, you lose time! 📸 Highlights of the Event The room was filled with cheers as groups of five students competed simultaneously. The level of intensity and the smiles of achievement at the finish line were truly heartening to see. It is these moments of healthy competition that foster a strong spirit within our MTMS family.

Celebrating Strength, Wisdom, and Devotion: Happy Hanuman Janmotsav!

At Mother Teresa Memorial School, we believe in celebrating the rich cultural tapestry that makes our community so vibrant. Today, we join millions across the world in celebrating Hanuman Janmotsav, the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman—the epitome of selfless service, humility, and incredible strength. For our students, Lord Hanuman serves as a timeless role model. His life teaches us that true power lies not just in physical strength, but in the wisdom to choose the right path and the courage to stand by it. Lessons from the Life of Bajrangbali As we celebrate this auspicious day, we encourage our students to reflect on the core values Lord Hanuman represents: Unwavering Devotion: His dedication to Lord Rama reminds us to be committed to our goals and our education. The Power of Humility: Despite his immense power, he remained a humble servant. We teach our students that success is most beautiful when paired with a grounded heart.
