Rathyatra Celebration at Mother Teresa Memorial School

🛕 Rath Yatra Celebration at MTMS

Honoring Tradition with Devotion and Joy

The campus of Mother Teresa Memorial School (MTMS) was filled with spiritual fervor, traditional music, and joyful celebrations as students and staff came together to celebrate the sacred occasion of Rath Yatra—the grand chariot festival of Lord Jagannath.

This celebration not only immersed students in a vibrant cultural experience but also helped instill devotion, unity, and respect for Indian heritage.

🕉️ Understanding Rath Yatra

Before the celebrations began, students were given a short introduction about Rath Yatra, its significance, and history. Teachers explained how this ancient tradition originates from Jagannath Puri, Odisha, where Lord Jagannath, along with Balabhadra and Subhadra, is taken out on a grand procession in decorated chariots to the Gundicha Temple.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about Indian mythology, regional diversity, and spiritual values.
