Welcoming the Lord of Beginnings: MTMS Celebrates Eco-Friendly Ganesh Chaturthi 2026

Festivals at Mother Teresa Memorial School (MTMS) are woven deeply into the learning experience, connecting students with our cultural roots while reinforcing ethical, mindful living. On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the MTMS campus came alive with devotional energy, artistic expression, and collective prayers to welcome Lord Ganesha—the harbinger of wisdom, peace, and auspicious beginnings.

Guided by our core values of Leadership, Wisdom, Compassion, and Growth, the celebration brought students, educators, and staff together in a shared spirit of gratitude and mindfulness.

The Eco-Friendly Clay Ganesha: A Green Tradition

A major highlight of our celebration was our conscious commitment to the environment through the installation of an eco-friendly clay Ganesha (Mitti Ke Ganesha):

• Handcrafted Artistry: Crafted carefully from organic natural clay, the deity was portrayed adorned in a traditional Rajasthani-style turban (pagdi), seated gracefully with his hand raised in blessing.

• Natural Offerings: The idol was reverently placed on a decorated altar flanked by fresh marigold and hibiscus garlands, sweet modaks, and his faithful vahana, Mushakraj.

• An Environmental Lesson: By choosing an unbaked, biodegradable clay idol over synthetic alternatives, our students learned that honoring sacred traditions goes hand-in-hand with protecting Mother Nature.

Classroom Creativity & Festive Decor

Leading up to the main day, students across classrooms engaged in creative expressions:

• Thematic Notice Boards: Class bulletin boards were decorated with vibrant, hand-cut charts featuring Lord Ganesha seated between sacred banana trees, decorated modak platters, and auspicious motifs.

• Cultural Atmosphere: Hallways and the auditorium stage were draped in warm festive colors, floral rangolis, and fairy lights, creating a tranquil sanctum for prayers.

Aarti and Mass Chanting Assembly

The celebrations reached their peak during a special gathering in the school auditorium:

• Traditional Aarti: Teachers and school leaders performed the traditional aarti, lighting the holy lamp (diya) and wafting incense as devotional hymns echoed through the halls.

• Unified Student Chants: Students sat together in orderly rows on the auditorium floor, raising their hands and filling the air with enthusiastic chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Mangal Murti Morya!”

• Collective Reflection: A short message was shared highlighting the values of Lord Ganesha—intellect, thoughtful listening, humility, and the determination to overcome obstacles in life and studies.
